description The LT3748 is a switching regulator controller designed for isolated flyback topologies that delivers high power. It drives the low-side external N-channel power MOSFET from an internally regulated 7V supply. Since the device senses the isolated output voltage directly from the main-side flyback waveform, there is no need to use a third winding or opto-isolator to achieve regulation. The LT3748 operates in boundary mode and is designed to provide a small magnetic solution that does not sacrifice load regulation. The operating frequency of the device is set by the load current and the transformer magnetizing inductance. The LT3748's gate drive circuit is combined with a suitable external MOSFET, allowing it to deliver up to tens of watts of load power from input voltages up to 100V. The LT3748 is available in a high voltage 16-lead MSOP package with 4 pins removed.
